Spearheaded the IATSE’s wildfire relief efforts, raising over $300,000 in aid. This included organizing clothing and household supply distributions and hosting IT resource fairs to support members in times of need.
Appointed as Labor Director of the Motion Picture Pension and Health Plans (MPIPHP) by International President Matthew Loeb in February 2025.
Played a key role in driving progressive reforms to the newly revised constitution and bylaws, empowering members with greater governance authority.
Secured approval for $347,000 in CSATF skills training for the 2023/24 fiscal year.
Secured approval for $478,000 in CSATF skills training for the 2024/25 fiscal year, resulting in 53 courses offered and 540 members trained.
Lead the Local 44 Basic Agreement negotiations with historic gains
Between February 2023 and March 2024, dedicated 106 hours to meetings with Local 44 members, focusing on workplace issues and bargaining preparation. This marked the most comprehensive and inclusive bargaining effort in the local’s history.
Expanded the bargaining committee to include rank-and-file members.
Collaborated with industry armorers and Property Masters to create a curriculum for establishing an official Industry Armorer Qualification, which is on track to be included in the Local 44 Basic Agreement.
Organized multiple Local 44 multi-craft town halls to address department- and craft-specific challenges, fostering strategic discussions to advance organizing.
Assigned Local 44 Business Representatives to studio assignments to ensure consistent member outreach and effective representation.
Facilitated the first member-focused resource fair during the WGA/SAG strikes, a model later adopted by other locals for their members. This initiative also served as the foundation for the Fire Relief Resource event in January 2025.
Co-organized the annual “ALL-IN Mixer,” which has become the largest fundraiser for the IATSE PAC for three consecutive years, showcasing strong ongoing support for the PAC’s mission.
Launched the “Lean In and Lean On” initiative in 2023 and 2024 in partnership with Teamsters 399, raising $177,000 to support families in need during the holiday season.
Proposed to the International that Larry Zanoff be formally recognized as the official firearms subject matter expert for the film and television industry.
Successfully negotiated the successor agreements for ISS and SAT in February 2024, breaking away from patterned bargaining to secure significant improvements in longstanding contracts. Similarly, in May 2024, negotiated the successor agreement for Prop Heaven, achieving comparable results by moving beyond traditional pattern bargaining.
Hosted the first New Member Mixer - with member panelists
Spearheaded the first-ever parliamentarian training for the Executive Board to enhance governance and decision-making.
Organized the inaugural internal organizing training for rank-and-file members, Stewards, and Executive Board members, fostering stronger leadership and collaboration.
Serve on the CSATF Labor Management Safety Committee.
Successfully recruited and facilitated the signing of 16 new Signatory Shops, strengthening our network and expanding opportunities.
Designed and implemented a new Facility Agreement in collaboration with Locals 705, 729, and 892 to enhance organizing efforts and set ambitious new targets.
Added a dedicated organizer, Jamie Welsh, to support the West Coast office. Jamie focuses on targeting non-union facilities competing with signatory companies, while also working with members and committees to develop effective internal organizing strategies.
Coordinated efforts with Local 44 Armorers and state legislators to address and counter proposed firearm ban legislation in response to the "Rust" tragedy, successfully defending our jurisdiction.
Addressed the misuse of Production Assistants (PAs) in our departments through grievances and information requests to uphold our standards.
Proactively targeted non-union subcontracting practices, engaging workers to join the Union and advocating for fair labor practices.
Collaborated with Business Representative David Elliott to develop and launch the Local 44 Facility Agreement, enhancing protections and opportunities for members.
Expanded the Legal Team to provide stronger support and guidance for our initiatives.
Initiated critical discussions, correspondence, and agreements with other Locals, including 729, 755, 695, 871, and 800, to address jurisdictional concerns and foster cooperation.
Tackled the misuse of the "Set Dec Coordinator" position, advocating for this work to return to Local 44, where it rightfully belongs.
Actively served as a board member of the CIC, advocating for the continuation of California’s tax incentive program to support job growth and industry sustainability.
